The Hill Motor Corporation Power of Community Scholarship is available to African-American high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students. You must write an essay of at least 500 words addressing the following points: Why is it important for Black Americans to re-build a sense of community that transcends socio-economic boundaries? What can be done to connect the fragmentations we have allowed to divide our race? What are some of the characteristics of a growing and thriving community? How can on-line social networking platforms such as HBCU Connect, Facebook and MySpace best serve to aid in establishing the community that closely mimics the natural communities to which we were accustomed to growing up?
