The Young Epidemiology Scholars Competition is available to high school
juniors and seniors. You must conduct an original research project that
investigates the many behavioral, biological, environmental and social
factors that affect health. Epidemiology is the science of exploring
patterns of disease, illness and injury within populations, with the
goal of developing methods for prevention, control and treatment to
improve health. You must be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.,
Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Midway, Wake
Island or the Mariana Islands. Only one project per applicant will be
accepted and team projects are not eligible.
