The Free Speech and Democracy Film Contest is open to American filmmakers
age 19 and younger. To be eligible, you must submit an original film (4
minutes maximum; DVD or VHS) that answers the question, "Does free speech
matter?" The film can be a documentary, animated film, experimental film,
music video, public service announcement, etc. You must also submit a
narrative explaining your creative process and ideas behind your work.
Films will be judged on content, artistic and technical merit, and
creativity by a panel of renowned writers and artists, such as author Judy
Blume and playwright Tony Kushner.
